Travel to Swansea from Bristol Airport

There are many options to get from Bristol Airport to Swansea. Information about Bristol airport and various methods to travel to/from it are here.

By Train

The closest train station to the airport is Bristol Temple Meads and regular trains run about once an hour. A shuttle bus service runs every ten minutes, during peak times, between the train station and the airport. Train tickets to Swansea are about 40 pounds return (prices vary depending on how early you book the ticket) and the journey takes about 3hrs in total. The last train to Swansea departs at around 22:50. You will need to catch an airport shuttle at 22:10 or earlier in order to catch this last train. Please see the appropriate schedules for updates.

By Bus

Bus is probably one of the easiest ways to travel to Bristol airport. There is now a direct bus service from the airport to Swansea's Quadrant Centre through the Greyhound bus service. Tickets cost about 10 pounds each way (20 pounds return), if you book them online. Buses run once an hour and the journey takes about 3hrs in total. Another service is that offers buses between Bristol Airport and Swansea is the National Express Bus. Here is a link to check bus times.

It is very important to note that the last direct bus leaves the airport for Swansea at 18:10. You can take the Greyhound to Cardiff and connect to Swansea via train, but the last train for Swansea leaves about 12:00 midnight. Please ensure your bus arrives in Cardiff in time to make this connection.

Car Rental

There are six car hire companies that operate at Bristol airport. The drive is about 85 miles and 1hr 40mins (according to Google maps). You can see their individual websites for their prices and hours of operation.
